traditional scented decor of a colonial christmas

a colonial williamsburg holiday traditions is to make wreaths with dried fruits; most commonly used are dried citrus fruits and pomegranante, and readily available around the holidays to the colinal household were dried italian oranges & limes (bergamote) and dried pomegranates.  this combination of dried fruits festively created a brite red and lite green circle surrounded by bought of pine, cedar and fir.
